Pumpkins

at Seamans' Orchard

Pumpkin season is a special part of fall at Seamans Orchard. Each year, our pumpkin fields become part of the busy harvest season as we grow and care for the crop throughout the summer and into autumn

Growing Pumpkins on the Family Farm

Our family proudly grows pumpkins each year as part of the fall harvest season in Roseland, Virigina. From planting and field preparation to harvest, pumpkin growing takes months of hard work and attention throughout the growing season.

Carter Parr, our nephew, manages the pumpkin crop at Seamans Orchard and oversees the work involved in raising and harvesting pumpkins each season.

From Our Fields to Fall Displays

Pumpkins are one of the most recognizable parts of the fall season and are used in many different ways each year. They can be found on front porches, in seasonal displays, at festivals, and carved into jack-o’-lanterns as part of family traditions and autumn celebrations.

The pumpkins grown at Seamans Orchard are sold wholesale only and are not available for direct purchase at the farm. While visitors may see pumpkins growing in the fields during the season, the crop is harvested for wholesale distribution to be enjoyed as part of fall traditions in many different places.

Growing pumpkins has become an important part of the fall harvest season at Seamans Orchard. As summer comes to an end, the pumpkin fields join the rest of the orchard in the busy work of harvest time. From caring for the crop throughout the growing season to preparing for harvest in the fall, pumpkins are one more way our farm celebrates the traditions of agriculture and autumn in Central Virginia.

Fall is one of the busiest and most rewarding times of year on the farm. The changing leaves, cooler weather, and harvest activity all become part of the experience that makes the season special. We are proud to continue growing pumpkins as part of our family farm and appreciate the support we receive year after year.

No pumpkin season is the same. We do the best we can with what Mother Nature gives us each year.
